Chandra is well known in the community for always being friendly and helpful. She is a valuable and respected team player who is willing to go the extra mile for her colleagues, family, and friends. Chandra’s work ethic and passion for excellence transcend in all areas of her life making her the ideal candidate for County Clerk.
Chandra also finds time for volunteer work. She is a Board member of FACC (Freeport Area Church Coop), an NAACP member, an American Heart Association volunteer, a Health eHeart participant, and a prior participant of the Empire Parent Committee when they selected a principal for the 2020-2021 school year at Empire School and actively serve on the pastor anniversary Board and Community Day Committee at Mt. Calvary Church of God in Christ. She is also an active member of the Farm Bureau.

Chandra Morris is deeply committed to providing outstanding public service in Stephenson County. A lifelong resident of Stephenson County, Chandra was born and raised in Freeport, IL.
Chandra possesses a long resume that illustrates her knowledge and investment in the community she serves, as well as exemplary traits necessary to assume the position as the next County Clerk of Stephenson County, Illinois. Chandra is currently employed at the Stephenson County Clerk’s Office as a Deputy Recorder.
Chandra has been serving the community in this role for the past fourteen years and takes great pride in the work she does. Prior to accepting her current position in the County Clerk’s office, Chandra was employed as a Deputy Treasurer with the Stephenson County Treasurer’s Office for eight years. Additionally, she was employed as a Team Leader for Security’s First Title Company located in Freeport, Illinois.
Not only does Chandra possess an impressive work history, but she is also highly educated. Chandra has demonstrated both personal and professional commitment by obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Information Systems in 2005. Not one to allow adversity to stop her from achieving her goals, upon recovering from pulmonary valve surgery in 2007 she elected to take accelerated computer courses at Highland Community College. In 2017, Chandra went on to earn a Master of Business Administration Degree, with an emphasis in Human Resource Management, while working full-time as a single parent.

In 2021, the Stephenson County Board voted to reduce the number of County Board members. They voted to decrease the number from 22 to 16 members.
Early this year, after the Census, new lines were drawn to make four City County Board Districts (B, C, D, and E) and four Rural County Board Districts (F, G, H, and I).
We elect TWO Board members for each district so on your ballot, you select two. The County Board maps show candidates marked in blue (Democrat) and red (Republicans) that are running for Stephenson County Board in the Illinois 2022 Primary Election.
