My name is Robin Rosenstiel, and I’m running to represent you on the Stephenson County
Board (District F). I grew up on a 225-acre beef and grain farm north of Pearl City. I spent my
summers bailing hay and showing beef cattle and my school months participating in 4H and
FFA. I’m a graduate of Pearl City High School and have a Bachelor’s Degree from Rockford
College, and a Master's Degree from Keller Graduate School of Management. I permanently
moved back to Kent in 2017 because I love the area and to assist my aging parents with the
farm, as needed. I currently live in Kent.
Volunteer Organizations I belong to:
Blackhawk Battlefield Park Foundation: Committee member assisting in the restoration of the
monument and the Rededication of the 1886 Blackhawk War Monument.
Work Experience:
I currently work as a Senior Supplier Performance Leader for Pratt & Whitney. I conduct Lean
Supplier Health Assessments (Lean, Continuous Improvement, Quality, Management) with new
and existing suppliers to identify gaps and develop strategies and improvement plans to
improve performance. I am responsible for identifying capacity constraints with suppliers and
implementing, monitoring, and reporting on corrective actions taken by suppliers. Additionally, I
lead Kaizen events to improve supplier processes and drive improvement in the supply base.
My goals for the Stephenson County Board
Broadband Internet Access in Rural Areas
Rural communities like District F deserve access to reliable, high-speed internet. I want to work with my colleagues on the County Board to apply for grants and identify other funding that can be used to improve broadband internet infrastructure in District F and every rural area in Stephenson County. Doing so will greatly improve the quality of life for residents and businesses.
Community and Economic Development
Stephenson County is currently experiencing economic difficulties due to the decline of
industries, a lack of job opportunities, and outmigration. I will encourage collaboration between local businesses and identify opportunities for mutual growth. I will also work to bring as much infrastructure funding back to District F as possible.
Nursing Home Issue:
I support the county's ownership of Walnut Acres nursing home. Walnut Acres offers essential
services to our community's most vulnerable residents. Any potential closure or sale of the
nursing home will have a significant impact on not only the residents but also their families. I am
fully committed to collaborating with my colleagues to ensure the nursing home's financial
stability so that the county doesn't have to consider selling it.
Transparency and Accountability:
Transparency and accountability are essential elements for the success of our community. As a
community, it is our duty to make decisions that serve the best interests of everyone. To
achieve this, we need to have more knowledge about how our decisions affect you and your
family. By doing so, we can make more informed decisions that will positively impact our
community.
