Ted Odendahl - candidate for Freeport Township Trustee
Ted received his Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Northern Illinois University in 1973 and
continued in a fellowship position to do graduate work—receiving honors for his work in logic.
After three years of work for the State of Illinois and teaching experience at Elgin Community
College, Ted entered the insurance business in 1977 and began his own insurance agency. He
has been licensed to broker all lines of insurance since 1977.
In 1979 he began working with Ferguson Financial Group and became NASD registered in 1982.
Continuously engaged in education, he completed testing was, awarded and has continuously
maintained the following certifications:
- Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) in 1988
- Accredited Advisor in Insurance (AAI) in 1991
- Associate in Risk Management (ARM) in 1993
- Certified Risk Manager (CRM) in 2002
In 1996, he also completed the academic requirements and was awarded a Master of Science in
Financial Services from The American College.
In 2012, he became affiliated with Dimond Brothers Insurance, LLC and remains in an advisory
capacity with that company.
Ted is a member of Certified Risk Managers International and the Society of Certified Insurance
Counselors.
