Dear Neighbor,
My name is Joseph Cardoso, and I’m running for the County Board. My wife, Sheila, and I have lived in Freeport for the last 23 years. We have four adult children, all with successful careers.
Before I retired, I spent my career in business. I ran two businesses here in Freeport: LP Scientific and Fresh and Clean. I was fortunate to work with many local business owners through these two companies.
In addition to my professional experience, I’m passionate about public health and addiction treatment and recovery. I’ve volunteered with the Salvation Army since I moved to Freeport, and helped start their treatment program locally. Jobs and the Economy
As a former business owner, Joseph has firsthand experience with opening businesses, navigating red tape, and accessing needed resources. On the County Board, he will work to responsibly reduce barriers that businesses face so that they can sustain jobs and families.
Good Government
Joseph had to build relationships, deliver high quality results, and be honest with his customers in order to succeed in business. He thinks our local government should do the same with its constituents. Joseph believes in transparency, separation of powers, and telling the truth.
Public Health
Joseph will work to forge partnerships between local governments and non-profits to improve addiction treatment and recovery in Stephenson County. This includes closing gaps in services and increasing awareness for people who may need help. Blue collar workers are the highest percentage of persons using treatment.
