SUZANNE M COOK

Candidate for Stephenson County Clerk - Nov, 2026

Suzanne M. Cook (Cannova) is a life long resident of Freeport. She graduated from FHS in 1978, and attended HCC her freshman year in college before transferring to MacMurray College in Jacksonville, Illinois. Sue graduated Cum Laude with a double major in Psychology and Philosophy, and a double minor in Deaf Education and Biology in 1982. 


Sue also graduated from Sauk Valley Community College in the School of Radiologic Technology in 1989, and SwedishAmerican School of Radiation Therapy in 1990. 


During college and between colleges, Sue worked as an Administrative Assistant for Catholic Social Services, District 145 (Substitute Teacher & Secretary), Director of Young Volunteers in Action at HCC (federal program) and an X-ray tech at FMH and Freeport Clinic. She is Bonded and is a Mandated Reporter. Currently Sue is a Staff Writer for the Mocking Owl Roost, a global online magazine. 


Sue looks forward to putting her education,  administrative assistant experience, years of political service and customer service background to good use as your next Stephenson County Clerk
