Roxane Rice

Candidate for County Board D

My name is Roxane Rice, and I am running for Stephenson County Board - District D.

I was born and raised in Pearl City, and I am a third generation Stephenson County resident. I graduated from PC High School, Highland Community College with an Associates Degree of Science in Nursing, and Rockford University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management.

During my 25 years working as a Registered Nurse, I served not only as a caregiver, but also as a patient advocate on a daily basis. I felt the need to help patients and family members navigate the healthcare experience, access services, and be active participants in their own healthcare.

I view the role of a County Board Member in the same way: Listen, Advocate, and Work to deliver for my neighbors.

Roxane Rice’s Background has Prepared Her to Serve our Community

Housing and Affordability

At 18, Roxane became a homeowner and landlord. She purchased and renovated multiple rental properties, gaining insight into rising property taxes, affordability of rentals and homeownership. As a Board member, she will promote responsible growth and affordable housing, while advocating for lower property taxes.

Infrastructure

Roxane will seek fiscal responsibility with infrastructure projects in Stephenson County that focus on meeting the needs of communities, promoting local businesses, attracting new investments, maintaining what we have, and increasing transparency in budgeting.

Public Health

Roxane spent her career in nursing, and cares deeply about her neighbors having access to good healthcare. She will work to increase awareness of health programs offered through Stephenson County like lead screening, community health screening, and dental services.

On November 3rd, Vote for a Mom, Daughter, Grandmother, and Nurse who will advocate for all generations.
